Hangin’ In Gotham

I like days like this.

I guess I’m one of the fortunate few. I like my job. Really like my job.

Sure there are days that are tough and I’d rather just dream about packing it in and doing anything but. And then there’s today, where I get to hang out with some really cool, really keen creative types and try to move the chains forward. (that’s a euphanism me and my buddy use for getting things done during our respective work days. Used like “Did you move the chains today?)

Anyway, today I moved the chains and still got to get refreshed, creatively speaking.

Didn’t shoot a whole heckuva lot, but caught a couple of nice images outside my glass.

While waiting for the 12:45 PM train into Gotham…

Larger.

This was shot at ISO 400, f11 and locked in at 35mm. I bumped the contrast way up in post.

Good thing I missed the 12:19 PM train or I may have missed this.

Once I hit the streets of Gotham, I cranked out one meeting and headed to the next. Hoofing it through Chelsea, camera dangling off the shoulder, basically. Then came across this street scene. Cat caught my eye first. Then the retro widow from Joseph Gutman Associates. Gutman…Gutman…reminded me of Sidney Greenstreet in The Maltese Falcon. Yeah…noir ain’t ever to far away.

As I was processing all of this, a traveler came into view. I tried to get the shot. A little street photography once more.

Larger.

Not exactly Tri-X film but I’m OK with it.

What I’m also OK with is how HUGE I am in Eastern Europe! Put the ol’ “Krajnak” name into this search engine – which I can only assume is the European worldwide leader version of Google, right??? – and you see how JerseyStyle comes up in the #1 ranking.
