Summer Starts Now
I know the calendar still has us a few weeks away from the “official” start of summer, but for me, it’s starts now. Memorial Day weekend.
Shot this a few days ago down at the beach in Belmar, New Jersey. There are quite a few beach towns in New Jersey, and this one is dominated by the college crowd. Not exactly the place to go for a nice quiet day at the beach, but Olivia and I had a good time there. It was quite packed but I had a chance to swing my camera around and catch this young couple. Seemed like a fitting way to start the summer.
I processed this image by going into the Nik Color Efex Pro set of filters and selecting one from the bi-color filters. Liked how they brought up the sky and the sand, but also gave the image an older-time feel to it. Someone commented to me that it looks like it was shot in the ’70s. I just like the way it looks.
Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend everyone! And enjoy the next few weeks of summer. Can’t wait to see what gets in front of your lens.

I like how you get out, with family, and take the camera along. We just never know when we might see something we want in our view finder. Have a great day, Mark.
Not sure whether you introduced me to the Nik set of tools, but my memory is that you did. Thanks so much, as they have really made some of my images sing, like this one of yours.
Have a great summer!
