September 11, 2001, 8:46 a.m. The time the world changed.

The shot above is the the 9/11 Memorial in Jersey City, New Jersey. Click for a larger view.

The memorial sits directly across the river from the World Trade Center. Many of those lost in the attacks would take the ferry from Jersey City to NYC as it was a quick commute. The steel is part of the World Trade Center.

I shot this a few summers ago when I was attending a conference in Jersey City and went for an early morning run. Today I’ll remember all those that lost their lives on that day in 2001.

Never Forget.

  1. I’m in New York City for the very first time and it was a very emotional day for me today. For me, your image is a reminder of how much things changed but also after nine years, how much things have not. There is still a huge hole in the hearts of fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, sons and daughters, and friends. It brings me to tears just thinking about it. Thanks for remembering and reminding us not to forget.
