Raise A Cheer, Winter’s Gone

Asbury Park, New Jersey

I’ve been walkin’, I’ve been freezin’
Freezin’ from a love I left behind.
I’ve been searchin’, I’ve been searchin’
Can’t find my peace of mind.
Gonna be a long cold winter
Long cold winter without your love.

~ Long Cold Winter, Cinderella

Whew. Made it.

Spring officially arrived yesterday, March 20th.

It was a LONG cold winter for me. Between snow, ice, travel and other stuff, it was a doozy. Good riddance, I tell ya.

I tried to keep shooting, though. Here are a few of my favorite shots for the winter solstice:

Begone and good riddance, Winter. See you again in eight months.

  1. Northeast Ohio had a pretty good winter as well. Lots of snow and cold temps, but we overcame them with fires inside and mugs of coffee and hot chocolate. It was the usual winter cycle in my house: lots of play and fun outdoors until mid-January, then it tapered off until Spring couldn’t come fast enough.

The link below is to some of my favorite winter images from the past season. I like them because they were unplanned and taken during photographic slump when I decided to just wander with the camera. As the hike progressed I shook off the slump and began to see shapes and contrasts that made good images. http://www.mconnorsphotos.com/blog/iced/

    Still: Happy Spring!
