A Full Fourth
To me, there are three great places to celebrate the 4th of July:
1) Philadelphia, PA – Hey, it all started there
2) Washington, DC – Pretty self-evident, this one.
3) New Jersey, especially Central NJ, where I live – The Crossroads of the Revolution
So much Revolutionary War history happened right around where I live, I can’t go more than a couple of miles in either direction before I run into some Revolutionary War marker.
Pretty cool, especially if you’re into this part of American history like I am.
So, this past 4th, I packed Liv into the car and we headed over to the Princeton Battlefield for a walk around.
Liv doesn’t get it all yet, but we still had an interesting time walking around, listening to some of the re-enactors, and just exploring, checking out the people.
Despite the heat and humidity, there was a pretty nice turn-out. And seeing those that put time into the re-enacting is always cool.
Especially the youngsters that get into it.
Like I said, it was a warm, humid day. By the end of it, Liv was in need of refreshments.
“Dad, can we go to a diner?”
Who am I to say no…
