Friday Noir: Holiday Cheer

It came upon a midnight clear, that glorious song of old.

Yeah, a midnight clear. Not very likely here in Dirty Jersey.

What do I want this Christmas?

Same thing I always want.

To end the year standing upright and not clutching a fistful of lilies in a box with six silver handles.

Oh, and a pack of Lucky’s.

That, my friends, would be a good Christmas gift.

Eh, ain’t no use wishing. Made it this far.

Pour another drink, sit back and…

Yeah, and… what?

Wait? Run? Cock those hammers and come out blasting?

O hush the noise, ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing….

Second in the Holiday Noir series.
