Tear Sheet: The Real Jersey Shore Book
Two days ago, I came home to a nice Christmas present.
Well, a Christmas present I bought myself.
My beautiful, hardbound copy of The Real Jersey Shore finally came in the mail.
It was worth the wait.
I think we all – especially those of us living in the Great State of New Jersey – know what a beating our beautiful coast has taken recently. From hurricanes and storms to a certain dopey group on MTV, this part of our state is largely ignored by many outside our area.
Maybe that’s a good thing. We then get to appreciate the fantastic shore towns, beaches, foods and people all to ourselves.
More than 32,300 photos were submitted, including a couple by me. I submitted the images to the site and largely forgot about it. Too busy to keep going back to check to see if they were getting voted on or not.
But lo and behold, my “Catching Air” photo, shot in Asbury Park, was selected to inclusion. Needless to say, I’m pretty honored.
It’s a wonderful book filled with beautiful images from both pro and amateur photographers. Leafing through it, it does what I think it was meant to do: It fills one with pride to live in this beautiful state, no matter the season.
