This has been a busy week here at JSP. Quite a few pieces of good news came through.
First, I found out that one of my images will be featured in the Landmarks Of The Jersey Shore 2013 Calendar. The calendar is sponsored by the Asbury Park Press and a portion of all sales will be donated to the Jersey Coast chapter of the American Red Cross and the Jersey Shore Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Now that image will be included in the 2013 calendar as well, with a portion of the proceeds going to a great cause.
My first calendar! I’m stoked.
The APP does a very nice job of printing these books and calendars, so if you’d like to order one for Christmas, send a check made out to The Asbury Park Press for $12.60 per calendar ($9.95 + $1.95 S/H) to:

Speaking of that Catchin’ Air image, it’s also being used by the Sons of Ireland in their promotional pieces for their Poloar Bear Plunge on January 1, 2013.
This week, I also found out that they would once again like me to shoot the event.
I’m excited to again shoot this event, especially this year as we all work to rebuild the Jersey Shore. One of the new charities included in the event this year is Sea Bright Rising. The town of Sea Bright was one of the hardest hit during Hurricane Sandy, and will need a lot of help and work to rebuild.
Sea Bright will always have a special place in my heart because it in that town, on a chilly, windswept, March night in 2000, that, in a little bar, I started dancing with this blonde gal while listening to Brian Kirk and the Jirks
That blonde gal, a few years later, would become my wife.
Good things happen in seaside bars, even if that bar is no longer standing.
And, last but not least, Issue 3 of Rear Curtain, the grassroots photojournalism magazine is out.
That’s Brooklyn photographer Ed Brydon’s cool image on the cover.
You can order the lastest issue (with a print order, you get a digital download as well – but really, the print is special) by going here.
One of my noir images again closes out this issue, as the RC staff and I continue to harken back to the pulp serials of old.
More coming soon on the lastest issue of Rear Curtain..
