Holiday Noir: Let Nothing You Dismay
That time of year again, eh?
Tidings of comfort and joy and all that.
My comfort is a well-oiled gat and a stiff drink.
To each his own, right.
Well, a fresh pack of Lucky’s and a new felt fedora would be nice.
That’d bring me joy.
I won’t hold my breath.
The night is dark.
The snow blows.
I’ll enjoy the quiet.
Holiday Noir. This continues a tradition I started a few years ago, and fleshed out even more last year. Winter’s darkness is full upon us, there’s no going back to those long days. Spring still seems far, far head. Most of our days are spent in darkness now, but at this time of the year, the twinkle of the treelights give some light. Still, that overall darkness prevades even the Christmas season. Some great noir-related or themed fiction and movies even take place during this time of year.
It ain’t all snowmen and reindeers with red noses, you know?
