Dispatches: Mister Softee And The Empire State

Earlier this week, I had some meetings in New York City.

It was hot and steamy. Felt like the dog days of summer but it was only a week removed from Father’s Day.

Still, walking the streets of New York, as I’ve often done before, I had to channel my inner Garry Winogrand.

Or maybe Joel Meyerowitz.

I stayed on 6th Avenue/Avenue of the Americas. Wanted to condense my vision a bit.

The day was good. The light was good.

The heat….well, I dried out on the drive back to Jersey…

First shot – Mister Softee And The Empire State – and the last shot – Umbrella Man – of this post are my favorites from this little stroll through the urban landscape.
