Weekend Shot: The Wonderment
“In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.” ~ John Muir
At least that’s what it seems like Matt is thinking here.
It was a fun, busy weekend on my end. Lots of time spent with the kids, and a date night to see Gravity (not really impressed with it.)
Yesterday, me and the kid spent some time at a local park we like to go to and kick the leaves around it. Colors are in full flame here in the Great State of New Jersey, so the park’s decorations looked pretty.
The other two kids were playing nearby, and I had my lens trained on Matt. I pulled this one a little short, though – should have included more of the tree in the frame for a true visual marker. This is one of those learned things – you have to keep you eyes open for “the shot”, but also be aware of everything else going on.
This continues to be one of my most challenging aspects of photography. It’s not just snapping the shutter, it’s about keeping a lot of plates spinning to get the right shot with full impact.
The image above is pretty and all…but I’m afraid an magazine editor couldn’t use it. Just doesn’t show enough.
But still…to me it’s the wonder of nature reflected back in Matthew. A quick Sunday snap.
