Happy Memorial Day

Wyoming, Pennsylvania

Wyoming, Pennsylvania

Here in the United States, we’re celebrating Memorial Day today.

They talk about the “true meaning of Christmas” all the time. I think the “true meaning of Memorial Day” has been getting lost over time.

It’s now the day we all fire up our grills and get family and friends together to celebrate the unofficial start to Summer.

But it should be more than that. It’s a day to remember all those men and women that have have served this great country over the years.

Today, we’ll take the kids to the local Allentown, NJ, Memorial Day parade. There will be veterans and firefighters and Little League players. Small-town life at it’s best.

And I’ll try to teach my kids about the real meaning behind Memorial Day.

  1. Thank you for taking the time to share the meaning of today.

If you are ever down in the Chattanooga area on Saturday before Memorial Day, you should come to the National Cemetery. In two and a half hours, a program with a 21 gun salute is presented followed by placing flags on 43,000+ graves by those in attendance. Most of those placing flags are Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts with adult supervision. It is a sight to behold.
