JSP Visual Week In Review ~ 08 | 15 | 15
We’re dead-bang in the middle of August.
Next few days are to be in the high 80s and low 90s around these parts. The Dog Days of Summer if there were ever any.
Being at mid-August also means Summer is slipping away. This week was spent a lot of family time – from hitting the county fair last Sunday to a quick, two-day get away with the kids to Lancaster County and Dutch Wonderland. I went to DW when I was a kid, back in the mid-1970s and it’s only gotten better over the years. Can’t say that for many things. But it’s very family friendly, nice mix of rides for the older kids (well, up until about 10) and the younger ones, very clean too. (Little known fact: The movie At Close Range was based on a father and sons gang that once broke into Dutch Wonderland to rob it.)
We all had a good time. It was the first time the five of us stayed in to a hotel together. The hotel had a couple of pools, which the kids loved, so that was a good way to end the day. Of course, there was some crying and meltdowns, but I tried to pull myself back together….
It was a quick trip, but sometimes they are the ones that hold the best memories. Guess time will tell, but it’s been a great summer so far.
And we ain’t done yet.
