Remembering A Mean Old Broad
Inauspicious date for many of us here in New Jersey: It was three years ago today that Hurricane Sandy made landfall.
I remember taking the dogs out the night before. It was on the warm side, the rain was whipping and rain was starting to come down. But it was bearable. It was exciting and dangerous and scary all at the same time.
Within 24 hours, we’d lose power. It would stay that way for the next five days.
Overall, my house and family were lucky. Nothing super major aside from some tilted trees. Many in New Jersey, especially along the coast, were not so lucky. Even today, some people aren’t back in their homes. Hard to imagine that.
Here’s a look back at what I remember from the days immediately following the storm.
