Happy Thanksgiving

Today, here in the great United States, we are celebrating Thanksgiving.

Many of us will sit around the table, hopefully with family and/or friends, have a fantastic dinner of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, and give thanks (again, hopefully) for the good graces that we are provided each and every day.

We here in America…we’re the true refugees. We started all this a long time ago. And let’s be honest…we were not always the best guests.

Lots of things going on in the world right now…much of it bad, some if it really good.

Still, we’ve come a long way…and yet we still have a long way to go.

We all celebrate Thanksgiving in different ways.

For some, it’s the big dinner on the last Thursday in November.

For others, it may be on a warm June night, while eating burgers at a picnic table.

Or on a beach blanket someplace, while chomping a Banh Mi sandwich and sipping a cold beer.

Or digging into a huge pan of paella with some Sangria nearby.

It doesn’t matter the day it happens on, or what’s on the plate.

Just bow your heads and give thanks for what you have: Your health, your family, your friends, your life.

We’re all in this together, friends. Let’s give it the best shot we can.

From my family here in the Great State Of New Jersey to wherever you are…Happy Thanksgiving.
