National Farmer’s Day

I’m often thankful at the flexibility my job affords me. This morning, I was able to take Matt on a field trip to a local farm/pumpkin patch and hayride. Not a bad way to spend a sunny Wednesday morning.

Grabbed this shot on the way home passing yet another farm in our local area, just a few miles from our house

Later today, I found out it is National Farmer’s Day.

Pharmaceuticals and tourism are now bigger than agriculture in our great state, at least from some information I found from a few years ago. But that doesn’t diminish all the farmland we have all across our state.Fruits, vegetables, sod, horses. Much of our farmland is devoted to these areas, and it’s fantastic.

No farmers, no food. Simple of that.

Thank a farmer today.
