Personal Project: Winterscape Gallery Series
It’s been a pretty quiet winter around these parts.
Some cold, not much snow.
Enough cold, though, that I’m annoyed running in it now.
At first it was a new and novel. That was back in early December.
Now it’s a drag.
The bundling up.
Running into a headwind. Seemingly both ways.
That headwind in your face, making you tear up, even behind sunglasses.
Thinking about that hot cup of coffee or soup and knowing you still have three miles to go.
I’m ready for it to be warm again, when I can just throw on shorts and a t-shirt, my sneakers and head out into the warm New Jersey air to sweat it out.
I haven’t even really considered one of my oldest personal projects, my Winterscape Gallery Series much this winter.I started this back in 2009 and continue to add to it.
This morning we were to wake up to a couple of inches. At 5:30 a.m., when I woke up, there was nothing.
But, by the time I took the kids to school, it was starting to come down in fat flakes. On the way home, I passed the Cream Ridge Winery and grabbed a few shots.
This one, too, after taking a detour down another road.
Now they are calling for snow mid-next week as well. Maybe the early demise of winter has been greatly exaggerated as they say.
And maybe I’ll add to the Winterscape Gallery Series, too.
