JSP Visual Week In Review ~ 06.17.17
Well that was quite the busy week we just had, wasn’t it?
Running around to baseball games, watching concrete get poured, a dog’s first haircut, a mid-week round of ice cream thrown in.
The sands are rapidly running through the school year for my kids. My youngest graduated pre-school yesterday. He’s start kindergarten tomorrow if he could. Alas, he’ll have to wait a couple of months. My other two finish up on Tuesday, then summer can officially begin.
Time keeps moving, I tell ya. Are you keeping up with it?
*****
Birthdays this week: Alvin Langdon Coburn, Warren Bolster, Arthur “Weegee” Fellig, Eddie Adams, Margaret Bourke-White, Yashurhio Ishimoto, Lillian Bassman, Irving Penn
What I watched this week: U-Turn. Thought this was David Lynch, turns out Oliver Stone. Visually, pretty interesting.
What I’m reading this week: The Case Of The Unhappy Angels
A NJ basketball powerhouse comes to the end.
RIP Adam West…who got an LA-style honor.
Stream Bob Seeger in a number of spots.
The photographic adventures of Arthur Conan Doyle
Flag Day this week. So I had to revisit my “The Man Who Collected Flags” story. Still proud of this one. Especially because it got picked up by a New York TV station and the main subject got airtime there.
Finally….a PSA…..it’s graduation season. Remember your place in the world…remember there are people sitting behind you that want to get that shot, that video as well. Don’t be like these people, at my son’s first-grade recital.
“Saturate yourself with your subject and the camera will all but take you by the hand.”~ Margaret Bourke-White
