Getting It Write
I love to read.
I don’t read as much as some, but I read a good amount. According to my Goodreads, I read 41 books in 2017.
I also love to photograph writers. I find them interesting and compelling.
And challenging.
They are really great at what they do, but that doesn’t mean they are comfortable in front of the camera.
So, I have to try to get them comfortable quickly, and hopefully get a good portrait out of them.
Like portraits of musicians, I hope to do more author portraits in 2018.
Above are some that I shot this year:
- Angel Colon
- Danny Gardner, whose A Negro and an Ofay was my favorite book of 2017
- Eric Beetner, whose Leadfoot was a close second
- Joe Clifford, who I was thrilled to meet in person this year since he’s opened up so many doors for me.
- Jen Conley
- Jay Butkowski
- Juliet Fletcher
If you’re looking for something new to read this year, check out anything by these writers. You can’t go wrong.
