JSP Visual Week In Review ~ 03.03.18

Here in New Jersey, we made it through another winter.

I write that while there is snow on the ground from yestersday’s Nor’easter and the wind is still howling in the trees across from my house right now.

But, for all intents, we made it through another winter. The days are getting slowly getting longer, and the sun will be warming soon.

I hope.

It hasn’t been a bad winter, but enough is enough.  I’m ready to move on.

Also, this week, I bought a new piece of gear. It’s up there in the middle, bottom row. A studio strobe. For a very decent price, all things considered.

Why did I get it? Hopeful insurance, I guess. I’d like to start shooting more portraits and I want to be ready for any situation. I call it the “dark library” syndrome. What if I got asked to make portrait of someone at 7 p.m. in the evening in their dark study – what would I do?

I’ve never been faced with this situation yet, but in my head, it seems like it can happen. And then what?

Anyway, I’m testing it out now (Matt, lower right, is test shot). When I’m ready, I’ll post about my thoughts on this. I’ve been meaning to do a gear post for a while. Hopefully this will make it happen.

So, what’s new with you?
