JSP Visual Week In Review ~ 07.07.18

Visual Week In Review_070718

Was it really just last week that it was June?

Yes, indeed, we’re into July. And just came out of a heatwave.

And yet, the last snowstorm we had still seems fresh in my head.

That’s one of the things I like about living on the East Coast – the change of seasons and the ebbs and flows that go with it.

This past week, I spent so much time down in Asbury Park, I thought they were going to charge me resident taxes.

On Wednesday, the 4th of July, me and the boys went down late morning to check out a sand sculpture that is advertising the upcoming Sea. Hear. Now. Music Festival.

We were all interviewed by a local TV station about it, but only my clip made the air. I need to media train my boys better.

We lunch at an outdoor marina cafe in Belmar. Pretty sweet.

Then I was down again on Friday and Saturday evenings, doing portraits, shooting bands, smelling all the great boardwalk food.

In between, it was one of those weird mid-week holiday work weeks where some were in, some were not, and people put on the pretense of working.

Best exchange  this week (on the AP Boardwalk):

Matt, age 6, asks me what that was, pointing to Madame Marie’s Fortune Teller studio as we walked past it.

I tell him she’s a psychic, a fortune teller who can tell you about your life.

Matt says “So she’s like Robin?”

I’m lost.

“Robin?” I say.

Matt: “Yeah, from Batman and Robin. She’s a sidekick, like Robin…”
