Tear Sheet: Live At The Carousel Cover
In 2010, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed a special concert inside the old Carousel building in Asbury Park.
The Carousel building is AP history. Probably one of the most photographed buildings not only in Asbury Park but along the Jersey Shore.
It’s steeped in history and mystery. On a quiet, foggy night, with the nearby waves crashing, you can almost hear the sounds of the old merry-go-round still spinning, the children squealing with delight.
Backstreets.co put together a special look-back PDF at that December 2010 concert. Early last week, the editor, my buddy Chris Philips, asked if he could use my Carousel building shot as the cover.
Of course I said yes.
I shot it back in 2014, early one morning, for another project Chris and I worked on.
I’m honored Chris remembered it and thought to use it as the cover here.
This is probably my last tear sheet of 2019. Sharing a cover byline with Danny Clinch…not a bad way to end the year.
