JPS Visual Week In Review ~ 11.07.20
What roller-coaster of a week.
From the U.S. elections…Yay! We rose up!
To my boys (and their Fall Ball baseball team) winning the semi-finals game on Wednesday night, but losing in the finals on Friday night….boooo!
This has been the up-and-down week for sure.
But that’s life, as Sinatra sang. Up one minute, down the next, up the next, midd of the road the next.
Through it all, life rolls on. The same pumpkin patch that I was keeping an eye on, just up the road from my house, has now been picked clean and plowed through again (top right corner photo), ready for whatever the next planting will be.
The local farm down the road from my house changed the signed to mark when Christmas trees and wreaths will be available (second row, middle.)
Marking the, country life way.
Through it all, we beat on, boats against the current of our days, as F. Scott once wrote.
Because that’s what we do.
Oh, and I shot my first wedding this week! More to come on that.
____________
What I Read This Week: Ugh. My reading has been stalled.
What I Watched This Week: Miami Vice, Season 3, Episode 1. Gone are the pastels from seasons 1 and 2. Sonny grows sleeves on his shirts, but still doesn’t wear socks. And his beloved Daytona gets blown up.
USA Today: Gun-waving St. Louis couple sue photographer.
NPR: RIP Baron Wolman, Woodstock photographer
Joe McNally: The Random Life of a Photographer
Shifter (video): Ten Words, Ten Photographers
PetaPixel: Five clamps and brackets every shooter needs (I often spend long times my local hardware store thinking if I can use the clamps I’m looking at. )
Remembrance: Thinking about Roxie today, who would have turned 15.
