In The Field: Midsummer In Central New Jersey

Midsummer was yesterday, June 24.

I shot this the evening of June 23.

A waxing gibbous moon over Westhaven Farm, just up the road from me.

I was walking my dog around 7:45 pm and saw how big the moon was.

Got him back to the house, grabbed the XT3 and decided to see what I could get.

Was the sky this purple?

Not quite. More of a blue / purple. But I was switching white balance settings and thought this looked pretty interesting.

My shot, my look.

Just had to open the shadows in post a little bit.

This may be the last time I shoot this scene.
