December In New York

NYC December 2011
I haven’t been in New York City since February 2020.
I like the city, don’t love it.
But I do miss the trips in for work I’d take.
I thought about maybe going in for the day, next week.
But the way things are heading up with COVID now…not sure.
Probably not.
The photo above came up in a FB History thing (I think).
And that made me think of putting this slideshow video together.
I shot these pics ten years – 10! – ago now. I was shooting a Canon 50D at the time.
Wow. Time flies.
Just a bit of NYC street photography. Nothing great going on but some fun shots!

I hope you can work out the possible trip to NYC next week. All that happened in 2021 seems to have a damper on the holiday season. Getting out and making some photos can help lift our spirits and those around us.
Have a safe and joyous Christmas.
I’ve been in Manhattan twice in the last two years. March 10th, 2020, was the last day of work in the Wall Street office. Over the summer, June, I took an empty train in for a photo walk along the High Lines and Hudson Yards. That was fun.
I’ve recently found the mental energy to get out more around my neighbourhood with the camera, and I had hoped to work up to doing a Christmas time trip into Philly or Manhattan. Still, I think I’ve missed my opportunity. It’s time to hibernate again.
Happy Holy Days.
