A New Chapter
I shot this image around 6:15 a.m. this morning, a new chapter in my life.
I kinda like it. Kinda weird, kinda trippy.
Since I’ve been keeping this blog, I’ve noted my wedding anniversary a few times.
Today, it’s a new chapter in my life.
At about 9:40 a.m., via Zoom, a judge officially divorced Leslie and I.
So, I’m officially single for the first time in 23 years.
Honestly, we probably have had the easiest divorce in the history of New Jersey.
Didn’t even use a lawyer. We did it ourselves with the help of EZDivorce.com
Yes, there was a rough patch when I first moved out in 2021, but for a good 18 months now, it’s all pretty copasetic between she and I.
No arguing, no bickering, the kids know we’re still friends.
Just two people who grew apart over the years, but are still cordial with each other now. For ourselves, and for the kids.
After the Zoom call, I didn’t do much else today. I took the day off of work, had some thoughts of going to Asbury Park, or Philly or something.
But I just kinda kicked around. A mental break day.
Dinner with the kids this evening, then baseball practice.
Not exactly “just another day” but…just another day.
Leslie will always be in my life. We have three great kids as a result of our 23 years together. Lots of memories.
But it’s time for a new chapter in my life. A new phase.

Best of luck with your new chapter Mark, and though it’s ended, it sounds like your marriage was a positive one that neither of you regret.
Thank you, Paul!
