In The Field: Nick Corasaniti’s Book Release Party at The Stone Pony

That’s author Nick Corasaniti front and center with friend

This week, over on the Letter To You.net, I have a new piece – words and photos – about the book release party at The Stone Pony for I Don’t Wanna Go Home – An Oral History of The Stone Pony by NY Times journalist, Nick Corasaniti.

Click on over here to read the piece and see a some the photos from the night – a pretty unique one for The Stone Pony!

Here’s a fun one, though: Getting The Shot > The Shot

With my photo pass, I have access to the side of the stage and the little steps that that lead up to it. While its fun to have that access, the shots usually aren’t that great because you only see eveyones backs. But I often shoot them to show the crowed in the club.

This one is kinda fun because I did get a nice expression from Brian Fallon, lead singer of The Gaslight Anthem. He was one stage with his bandmate, Alex Levine (camera right, not see). bandleader for the night, Marc Ribler, and, to his left, Bryan Kienlan (cap) of the Bouncing Souls punk band, and Rachel Bolan, bassist for NJ-based metal band, Skid Row. They were all doing a Ramones song, Bonzo Goes To Bitburg, as song Gaslight has covered in concert.

It was a fun night in Little Eden. Hit the link above to read my piece there, and to few a slideshow of images.
