Cold Coffee, No Waiting

I fell down my own personal rabbit hole last evening.

I delved into my 2011 and 2012 hard drives, looking for an image that I remember shooting but never really processed. Sometimes, I shoot so much, I forget about older images and only focus on the latest ones (it’s like that old Joseph Joubert quote: The problem with new books is that they prevent me from reading the old ones.)

Anyway, as I was looking for this image file, I was back in my February 2012 folder. I came upon this image of a diner on Route 130. I’ve always liked the look of it, and that day the clouds made it something extra. I tried a straight B&W conversion to it, and it was nice.

Then, though, I thought about bringing some of the color back into it, so I sprinkled a little PS/Nik magic dust on it. I bumped up the saturation and the structure/clarity/sharpening a bit, and, 40 minutes later, I liked it even more. I think I may make a metallic print out of this one.

And no, I never did find that image I was looking for….
