The Last Picture Show…In New Jersey
Out for a mid-day ride yesterday.
Maybe it’s because I like the film THE LAST PICTURE SHOW (in which a 20 year old Cybil Shepard kicks off her stellar career.)
Or maybe it’s because I spent time over the last few weeks listening to THE PLOT THICKENS,where Ben Mankiewicz interviews TLPS director, Peter Bogdanovich, and in which he paints the picture of that film.

But these snaps remind me of that lonely Texas town described in Larry McMurtry’s book (which I read, and liked).
Even though its Central New Jersey.
Maybe it’s the clouds.
I dunno.
Simple snaps while cycling, for sure. But they stirred something.
Watch the film. Or read the book.
Or do both, like me.
