JSP Visual Week In Review ~ 05.13.23

I know, I know. I’m a few days late on my customary Visual Week In Review.

Still getting back into the swing a bit.

Speaking of swings…my son, Chase, turns 13 today.

Pre-Game Portrait – 05.15.23

He’s growing into a fine human being. He’s an A student that is very diligent. Loves baseball and, recently, tennis. Playing Scrabble, too, which he’s very good at despite not being much of a reader.

He heckles his younger brother every chance he gets, but builds him up and spends a lot of time with him too. He and his older sister…eh, they co-exist.

He’s generally polite and will give you the shirt off his back if you needed it (kinda wish his younger brother would share as much as Chase does.) He’s kind to people and animals.

Yes, he has his moments – what pre-teen/teenager doesn’t. But overall, a good kid.

I pinged my buddy that about Chase’s birthday today. Entering the teen years is a big thing.

He texted me back something about life passing us by.

I think he meant, time waits for no one. I don’t see Life passing me by. I don’t sit idly by. I out there in it.

Yes, my kids are getting older, but I love watching them grow. I’d had to go back to the toddler days, even. They were all well and good when going on…but  I’ll be honest…I didn’t love that phase. Prefer them a little older, like they are now (or between 8 and 12, but I digress…)

Anyway, I’m active in their lives and they in mine. I like where we all are at.

Nothing is passing us by.

Don’t let anything pass you by. Good or bad, take it in.

Let it enrich you. Like the saying goes “You never step foot in the same river. It’s always changing.”

That’s life, too.
